Wendy's Wanderings: New England Trip: Fall, 2015

Last Fall Break, I got to go to New England with MyLittleMegara and her family! It was very fun, and I got to ride in a plane!

MyLittleMegara doesn't really like airplanes, but I loved my ride!

I imagined I was on my way to Neverland.

I felt just like my namesake, Wendy Darling!

The clouds really looked magical.

Still, it was kind of exhausting and I was very glad to make my bed when we got to our hotel.

I read my book for a few minutes, then went to sleep.

The next morning, we went to The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. They had a lot of very cool exhibits.

The Egyptian artifacts made me think of Samantha.

I thought Isabelle would like this dress from Ancient Egypt, too.

I liked looking at the painting on the sarcophagus.

I wondered what the hieroglyphs said!

In another part of the museum, they had this neat neon sign.

We also got to see a lot of Impressionist paintings.

Those are my favorite!

There's such a wide range of variety in the styles of the various artists.

I love her pretty dress!

I decided to pose like the lady in the painting.

It was really neat to see all the paintings.

I also got to see my favorite sculpture of all time: Degas' Little Dancer!

I also have a new favorite painting. It's called "La Japonaise" and it's by Monet.

I thought it was very pretty, and I bought a poster of it when we left the museum.

On the second day of my vacation, I just hung out in the hotel room.

It was nice to lounge around and relax.

At the end of the day, I put on my pajamas and I got ready for a big day the next day.

I wanted to get my rest since MyLittleMegara had a big plan for us the next day.

I went to bed early in preparation for an adventure.

On the third day of my trip, we went antiquing!

I met a very nice Scarlett O'Hara doll who had a very pretty dress. We didn't end up taking her home, though.

I also found a dog on wheels that was just the right size for me to ride.

I loved seeing all of the dollhouse furniture! It was just the right size for me to play with.

After going antiquing, we went to a very pretty park in Vermont.

The plants, mountains, and sky were absolutely GORGEOUS.

The next day, we went to visit one of MyLittleMegara's relatives.

While they caught up with each other, I decided to climb a tree.

I'm not an expert tree climber, but I was doing pretty well.

Unfortunately, the higher I got, the harder it got to find footholds.

Really hard. As in I fell.

When I landed, I fell on my left arm and heard a funny noise.

I couldn't move my arm and it really hurt.

I'll spare you the trip to the ER that followed, and just leave you with a picture of my nice, green cast.

The next day, I was almost able to ignore my cast when I went to the beach for the first time ever!

It was too cold to swim (plus, you know, cast) but it was so pretty and I had a great time running around getting pictures.

The beach was covered in rocks and seashells and was very picturesque.

I loved the feeling of the sand under my toes.

There were also some very large rocks, which MyLittleMegara and Aighmi* helped me climb.

I felt like Ariel.

"I wanna be where the people are..."

There were even little tide pools for me to wade in!

The same day, we went to an exhibit of fairy houses!

They were handmade by some local artists.

Some were inspired by different stories, some were just inspired by the idea of fairies.

Look! It's the stone circle from Brave!

The Snow Queen's glass castle was very pretty, too.

I got a picture of the Emerald City to show Samantha.

On the last day, MyLittleMegara and her cousins went to a Corn Maze and let me come, too.

I felt very small in the giant corn stalks.

The maze was a great end to a great trip! The next day, we flew home. I enjoyed my trip, but it was very nice to be home with my sisters again.
