Live Post: Bring on the New Year, 2016-2017!

Hello all and welcome to our live post in which we update you on our magnificent New Year's goings-on! I, Lindsey Bergman, shall be your guide through the wonderful festivities about to occur! LET'S GET GOING!

This post will be updated throughout the evening. Stay online to see what we're up to!

4:00 PM:

Elizabeth has had an idea.

Inspired by her new dress (Felicity's work dress, a Christmas present), she decided to share her collection of colonial style gowns with anyone who wanted to wear one!

Most of the girls were very excited about that idea.

Even Kit got dressed up!

Samantha and Isabelle chatting about their outfits:

Wendy just looks so cute in pink.

I chose Felicity's travelling gown. I love its lilac color!

Josefina stoutly refused to wear a gown, insisting that she always celebrates the New Year by staying in her pajamas.

Of Aighmi*'s girls, only Molly chose to wear a colonial gown, and she chose Felicity's Christmas gown.

4:30 PM:

Everyone is piled on the couch, watching The Muppet Christmas Carol.

5:00 PM:

Still watching the movie... just wanted to let you know that I've opened an Instagram account for my cosplay adventures! If you want to check it out, I'm @lindseybergmancosplay.

5:30 PM:

Molly found a blanket making kit, and Nellie and I are going to help her put it together.

6:00 PM
:

Blanket update: not yet tying, but we're cutting the fringe!

6:30 PM:

The tying has begun!

The rest of the girls are still on the couch, watching Oliver and Company.

7:00 PM:

Minty Molly is enjoying her job of being in charge of the remote control.

7:30 PM:

Addy really enjoyed the movie! We had never seen it before.

8:00 PM:

Almost done knotting!

8:30 PM:

We're done with the blanket!

Nellie appears to be falling asleep...

9:00 PM:

WE FOUND CHOCOLATE.

9:30 PM:

Playing Bananagrams with Hollis!

So far, she's winning...

10:00 PM:

I'm playing Groovy 8's with Taylor (you haven't met her yet.)

She's lots of fun to play with.

10:30 PM:

We're snuggled under the blanket, watching Enchanted!

11:00 PM:

Losing my will to stay awake...

11:30 PM:

"Tea! That's all I needed. A good cup of tea. A superheated infusion of free radicals and tannin. Just the thing for heating the synapses." - the Doctor

Seriously, I think the tea is the only thing keeping me up at this point...

12:00 AM:

THE BALL HAS DROPPED! WELCOME 2017!

Rosie and I watch the ball drop.

Let's hope it's a great year!

Saving the world one never ending post at a time,

Hello From Us: Hollis

Hello, everyone!  I am Hollis Ann.  Aighmi* received me as a birthday present last June, but it wasn't until now that I decided to finally include myself on our blog. I'm like that....I like to think about things, rather than just jump ahead.  Preferably, there should be plently of time to think about EVERY decision.  But then, once I have made up my mind, I jump in with both feet!

Full Name:  Hollis Ann

Age: 10

I Like This Time Period:  I guess I don't really have a preference.  Though I sure wouldn't want to have lived before indoor plumbing!

Hobbies: Being outside, hanging out with my buddies, going to camp in the summer.

Three Words that Describe Me:  Contemplative, loyal, adventurous.

My Three Closest Friends:  Rose Lynn, Addy, Mint Molly

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." - Helen Keller

It is so lovely to be part of Aighmi*s little family!  We have a great time together, and many adventures to share.

When the time comes for me to post, I will close by saying,
Farewell!
Hollis

Hello From Us: Molly

Hello, everyone!  I am Molly, and I had a very full life with a little girl who grew up to have only little boys.  She decided that someone else would have more fun with me, and that is how I came to be part of Aighmi*s family!  I much prefer the company of the other dolls than life in storage, which was VERY boring.  Also, it gave me the beginnings of silver eye, but Aighmi* said that doesn't bother her a bit!

Full Name:  Molly Jean McIntire

Age: 8

I Like This Time Period:  Right NOW!  Because I can dress however I like!

Hobbies: Cuddling, chatting with my new sisters, playing with My Little Ponies, and playing board games.

Three Words to Describe Me:  Grateful, curious, cheerful.

My Three Closest Friends:  Aighmi*, Emily, Mint Molly

"To Molly, the surprise was all the more wonderful because you had to earn it.  It was a discovery to be found only at the end of a long, hard hike.  No one was going to give the surprise away, so Molly didn't ask questions about it.  She was enchanted with the mystery of it all." - Molly Marches On, Valerie Tripp

Since I was given an opportunity at a new life, I want to use it well.  I hope to make everyone feel content and welcomed, and I want to enjoy every moment that I am not in storage!

When i post on this blog, I will sign with
Enjoy!
Molly

Life with Lindsey: Happy Hanukkah, 2016!

One thing you may not know about me is that I'm Jewish! The girls here are great about it, and I celebrate Christmas with them and they've promised to celebrate Hanukkah with me, even if we have different religions. Since today is the first day of Hanukkah (and Christmas Eve) I wanted to wish everybody a Happy Hanukkah!

Whatever you celebrate this year, make it a good one!

Josefina's Joys: New Mexico, Summer 2016

This summer, I got to go to New Mexico!

The first day was just the trip there, which consisted of a plane ride and then a drive in a car.

On the second day, I got up early so I could explore.

MyLittleMegara made me a bunch of skirts so I would look "historically accurate," which was nice... but I would rather have been in pants.

I finally settled on an outfit I liked, then went outside to play.

I found some beautiful scenery to climb around on.

I felt like I could run around for hours.

So much SKY...

I wished I had my tennis racket and a ball so I could practice!

I settled on exploring instead.

The sun was warm on my vinyl, but not uncomfortable.

The grass was taller than I was in some places.

I was on the lookout for wildlife.

Sadly, I didn't see any. YET.

The third day, I played cards with Aighmi*'s new vintage Molly.

We ate a lot of snacks...

I knew I would win!

Molly was very good at the game, though.

It was close competition.

On the fourth day, MyLittleMegara's family got an AG catalog in the mail.

Not quite the quality I'm used to...

Honestly, looking at the catalog kind of made me sad.

Lea's house was cute, though.

AAAH! WHO IS THAT ME CLONE???

On the fifth day of my trip, MyLittleMegara let me color her Doctor Who coloring book.

I like Eleven best, but Doctor Who isn't an obsession of mine.

I've only seen a few episodes.

The sixth day, I went adventuring outside again.

Since it was my second to last day, I wanted to make sure I saw everything!

I wanted to see deer, but the only animals I saw were a few humming birds.

I did find a dried up stream.

I'm not a poetic doll at all, but the way the light hit the stones was really gorgeous.

There were all sorts of lovely yellow wildflowers.

Isabelle told me the pictures looked like something Van Gogh might paint.

Wasn't he the one eared painter?

Oops, you can't see my face in this picture...

I found a big tree!

It was fun to climb around on.

The branches were all twisted.

The sky was so pretty with all the clouds.

I could even see a mountain!

New Mexico is beautiful.

Look, Mom, I'm almost as tall as you are!

This one looks like a post card.

There was also a lot of scrub oak.

I really started to feel like my book character. Yikes. I'm really not like her at all - I'm not afraid of ANYTHING.

I found a log to sit on!

I sat there to rest for a few minutes before going back to exploring.

While looking around, I found a lake.

At first I was concerned about what MyLittleMegara would do if I got close to the water...

... but my adventuresome spirit won over my conscience.

The water was calm and as bright as the sky.

Geez, I'm starting to sound poetic.

I really, really wanted to wade.

The water was cool and the plants were tickly!

I love New Mexico.

On the seventh day of my trip,  I played games with the humans.

I had some help from MyLittleMegara with my words.

Bananagrams is more Nellie's thing than mine.

Still, I did pretty well.

Goodbye, New Mexico.

The last day was another car ride and plane trip.

As much as I loved New Mexico, I was glad to go home.

I really missed my tennis racket.

Adios!
Josefina M
