THAT'S A WRAP!

Hello From Us: Rose Lynn

Hi, everyone!  I'm new here!  I'm Aighmi*s doll, but we have to borrow MyLittleMegara's computer because Aighmi*s died the first week in December.  But that has just meant that she has had more time to play!  Aighmi* named me Rose Lynn, but mostly she calls me Rosie. I guess I am what is called a "Just Like You" doll, and I sort of look like Aighmi* did when she was a kid.  I wonder if that means that i will have a lot of white in my hair in a few decades?

Full Name: Rose Lynn Applecross

Age: 10

I Like This Time Period:  Right now!  I really haven't learned much about other time periods, and it seems like this is a good one because no matter what time period you like or hobby you have, you can enjoy it right now!

Hobbies:  Watching movies, hanging out with Aighmi* & the other dolls here, playing with Disney Tsum Tsums.

Three Words to Describe Me:  Affectionate, curious, eager to learn.  (Oh, that's not one word...sorry!)

My Closest Friends:  Jesus, Aighmi*, and Addy.

At that time, Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children."
Matthew 11:25

I don't remember my life before being here...it's like I woke up for the first time when Aighmi* took me out of my shipping box.  There is so much to learn!  I love to snuggle and to learn all about this world I am living in now!  I know they are for little kids, but the Veggie Tales shows are so much fun to watch!!

When I write, I guess I will sign myself....
Blessings,
Rosie

Isabelle's Items of Interest: Halloween 2015

Since I, Isabelle, am the seamstress in the house, we decided I should be in charge of writing the Halloween post! I dressed up as a princess.

Josefina, Elizabeth, and Emily were Disney Princesses.

Samantha was a beautiful woodland elf.

Kit was a hobbit, after her favorite books. I made her cape.

Addy was a bumble bee!

Wendy's costume was inspired by her broken arm (which happened over Fall Break. Unfortunately, all of the pictures from her trip are on Aighmi*'s broken computer, so MyLittleMegara can't help her post them yet...) We couldn't come up with any characters that had broken arms, so she decided to be a disaster on wheels.

Molly was a hula dancer, and Ruthie was Lucy Van Pelt from "Peanuts."

Nellie was a fairy... or a butterfly... she couldn't decide.

Aighmi*'s Molly was Little Red Riding Hood (and, unfortunately, any full size pictures of her are on Aighmi*'s broken computer.)

Did you do anything exciting for Halloween?

To the stars,
***Isabelle

Key Moments with Kit: I Love Fall!

Lots of people have trouble picking a favorite season. (Looking at you, MyLittleMegara!)

I, on the other hand, know EXACTLY what my favorite season is.

I have discovered that I love Fall!

It isn't too hot, but it isn't too cold, either.

There are lots of leaves that come in more of an interesting variety of colors than "green."

I like the crunchy noises they make.

Fall is a sort of cozy time, but there's also a nice little tang of adventure in the air.

Do you have a favorite season?

Signed,
Kit Kittredge

Josefina's Joys: Happy Thanksgiving!

As the resident chef here, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love all the food.... and, of course, spending time with my sisters.

Adios!

Hello From Us: Addy
Hi!  I'm Addy!  I am a happy member of Aighmi's doll family.

Full Name: Addy Walker

Age: 8

I Like This Time Period: Civil War Era for my stories and fashion, modern times b/c I love jeans and t-shirts!

Hobbies: Gardening, playing with pets, cooking with Josefina.

Three Words to Describe Me: Playful, loyal, generous.

My Closest Friends: Aighmi* & Josefina.

Best advice I've ever gotten: "'We all make mistakes,' Miss Dunn said. 'I suspect you've learned a lesson about friendship.  But you can't make things better by hiding in here.  You need to think about what you stand for and act on it.'"  Addy Learns a Lesson, Connie Porter

I love living here!  I can't really remember my old life, but life here is great!  There are a bunch of other dolls, plus two humans who love us and let us do all kinds of cool things.  Check out the bathtub Aighmi* got us!  I spend as much time in there as I can, washing off the dirt from the garden.

When I write, I think you'll know it's me, since I am the only Addy here!  But just to be on the safe side, I will always sign out,
Your friend,
Addy

Isabelle's Items of Interest: The Art Institute of Chicago

When we were in Chicago, we knew there was one thing we just had to see before we left, and that was the Art Institute. (We also went to the Disney Store, but I didn't get any pictures there.) I knew that I really wanted to see the Thorne Rooms while we were there. The Thorne Rooms are a series of miniature rooms representing different time periods in history and different styles of architecture and interior design.

One of the rooms had a little greyhound! He made me miss my dog, Bo. :(

I loved the way this chair was upholstered with an actual tapestry that looked hand stitched. I couldn't imagine how long that would take!

This little desk was so cute. I wished I could shrink down and sit at it to sew!

I loved the print of the wallpaper here as well as the beautiful canopy bed.

This is actually supposed to be a bathroom! See the bathtub sunk into the floor?

Everything was so beautiful and detailed, I could hardly believe my eyes!

The chandelier in this room was gorgeous.

Almost all of the rooms that had beds had canopy beds! I've always loved those!

This room was more "modern" looking.

I liked the curtains, but not the couch.

The stairs!!! TINY STAIRS!! *dies of happiness*

They have lots of paintings at the Art Institute, of course. I loved the way her dress looked like real fabric in this one.

I really liked all the clothing that I saw in the paintings there. How do painters make brush strokes look like actual silk or velvet or fur?

The flowers in this picture were pretty, and I liked the frame.

I really liked this painting by Edgar Degas because of the colors.

The highlight of the trip for me, though, was seeing "Little Dancer, Aged Fourteen." I absolutely love that sculpture... in fact, when it was what inspired me to start dancing!

To the stars,
***Isabelle

Just a side note: I'm a tourist and I'm in no way affiliated with the Art Institute. I wasn't paid to advertise or anything, but I'm going to anyway: YOU SHOULD GO! IT'S GREAT!
