Hello From Us: Wendy

By the time Christmas 2007 rolled around, MyLittleMegara wanted a doll who looked like her. Not having a fair skinned curly haired brunette, I (MyAG #13) was chosen instead and I am certainly glad I was! It was so wonderful to be opened up that day and see her excited face.

Full Name: Wendy Natalie Smithens

Age: 11

I Like This Time Period: Modern. They didn't have glittery t-shirts in the 1600's, did they? I do like 1930's fashion as well.

Hobbies: Reading, fangirling (especially over Disney, Once Upon a Time, or anything Peter Pan related.) I used to do ballet and gymnastics  but I don't anymore. I'm sort of considering doing one of them again, though.

Three Words to Describe Me: Gentle, loving, kind

My Closest Friends: Ruthie (we're twins!) and Isabelle and MyLittleMegara and Sugar (my Yorkie.)

"Wendy had lived such a home life that to know fairies struck her as quite delightful. She poured out questions about them, to his surprise, for they were rather a nuisance to him, getting in his way and so on, and indeed he sometimes had to give them a hiding. Still, he liked them on the whole and he told her about the beginning of fairies." - Peter and Wendy, J M Barrie

I was named for Barrie's Wendy (well, really Disney's Wendy but they are very similar) so I suppose it's only natural that I love Peter Pan so much. I would really like to meet a fairy. I truly believe in them, even though some of my sisters *coughcoughJosefinacough* don't agree that they exist.

Hello From Us: Josefina

Aren't grandparents the best? I was purchased to be a decoration in MyLittleMegara's grandparents' home along with my table and food. They never did display me but soon I had a new human: MyLittleMegara.

Full Name: Josefina Maria Montoya

Age: 12

I Like This Time Period: Modern. I'm much more comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt than anything else.

Hobbies: Cooking, tennis, playing with my "sisters."

Three Words to Describe Me: Energetic, caring, tomboyish

My Closest Friends: MyLittleMegara, my pets, and (despite our differences) Elizabeth. my BFF

"Faster and faster she ran, out of the village, up the road to the ranch, toward the house, until she came to the orchard. She climbed up into her favorite apricot tree." - Happy Birthday, Josefina!, Valerie Tripp

I really, really like to cook. I think it's probably because I've always been around food, even when I was in storage at MyLittleMegara's grandparents' house. I also really like to play tennis. I'm not the best player in the world but I've really improved since I started playing around 4 years ago.

I probably won't post very often (I'd rather be outside than sitting in front of a computer) but when I do, you'll see
Adios!

Hello From Us: Aighmi*s Molly

Hi!  I'm Molly.  I'm Aighmi*s Molly, which may make things a little bit confusing, since the two humans using this blog both have Mollys.  It's not confusing when you live here, though, just fun!

'

Full Name: Molly McIntyre

Age: 9

I Like This Time Period: 1940s for its fashion and history, later 1900s & early 2000s for FANTASY FICTION!!!

Hobbies: Reading, playing with my American Girl dolls, visiting MyLittleMegara's dolls.

Three Words to Describe Me: Bookish, friendly, quietly observant.

My Closest Friend(s):  Aighmi* & Nellie.

"If that's what happened to you when you got to be fourteen, Molly would rather be nine forever." - Meet Molly, Valerie Tripp.

When Aighmi* unintentionally introduced me to fantasy fiction, because she was listening to an audiobook of one of JK Rowling's Harry Potter books, it completely changed my life.  Now, every chance I get, I read any fantasy book I can find.  I LOVE the creatures, and have recently been studying dragons.

There are a couple of ways you will know this is me.  First of all, the people here keep talking about wanting to keep my hair "mint" (which is very strange, because I don't smell any mint,) so I am ALWAYS wearing this outfit.  I will also sign off

Hello From Us: Emily

The plan had originally been for MyLittleMegara to only ever have one American Girl doll. Then AG came out with a British friend for Molly. From then on, all MyLittleMegara could think was "Emily." Every large, boxed gift was thought to be me, but they never were... until Christmas.

Full Name: Emily Jane Bennett

Age: 10

I Like This Time Period: I like to dress in clothing from the 1940's and use period furniture.

Hobbies: Playing with Yank, gardening, making up puns, school

Three Words to Describe Me: Honest, loyal, contained

My Closest Friend(s): MyLittleMegara, my dog Yank and my good friend Molly

"A clean breeze puffed the curtains. Molly was sprawled on the floor on her stomach. Emily was sitting up with her back straight against Molly's bed. Emily always sat up straight. She never sprawled. She never took up too much room. But she wasn't stiff and silent anymore. Spring buds were opening up in the sunshine and Emily was, too." - Happy Birthday, Molly!, Valerie Tripp

I actually like school. I think that numbers are quite spiffing and I enjoy coming up with solutions to problems about them. I also enjoy coming up with puns. It makes me very happy indeed when I can make any of my adopted sisters laugh.

You'll know I'm the one posting when you see
Cheerio!

Hello From Us: Molly

Hi, everybody! I'm Molly, the doll who started it all. I've been around here for nearly ten years now! Over the years, I've been on lots of adventures with MyLittleMegara and my other AG doll friends. A few weeks ago, all of us sort of had the same idea at the same time: why don't we start a blog like Anna, Meg, and (of course) MyLittleMegara?

Full Name: Molly Jean McIntire

Age: 10 (This is how old I am in doll years, but it's also how old I am in human years... or at least how old I will be at Christmas! Isn't that neat?)

I Like This Time Period: The 1940's. My stories are set then and American Girl dolls' stories are like our pasts. We have memories from them and they help to develop who we are (in most cases, though not always.) For example, I remember when Dad was off in England very clearly, even though I've never met him. Golly, I hope that makes sense. :)

Hobbies: Tap dancing, reading, dreaming, acting

Three Words to Describe Me: Friendly, patriotic, outgoing

My Closest Friend(s): Emily, MyLittleMegara, and my dog, Bennett

"Molly watched Mrs. Gilford sifting some flour through a strainer. She was making a small snowstorm fall right into a bowl on the kitchen table. It looked like fun- you could make a mess but it wouldn't get you into trouble." - Molly Learns a Lesson, Valerie Tripp

I love the story of Cinderella. I've always liked seeing creative takes on the classic story. Some of my favorites are the Disney movies (both animated and live action,) Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine, and hearing Ruthie tell the story. She has a knack for bringing fairy tales to life.

Whenever I post, you'll be able to tell it's me because I'll end by signing off like this:

Gosh and golly!
Olly Molly
